Sophie Clima is a French-born artist celebrated for her whimsical, vibrant artwork that
blends elements of chinoiserie, grandmillennial aesthetics, and playful storytelling. Her
pieces often depict animals, florals, and interiors, rendered in a style that evokes joy
and nostalgia. Clima’s work is characterized by its expressive impasto technique,
particularly in her oil paintings, and a keen eye for detail in her watercolor compositions.
Raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, Clima was influenced early on by her uncle, a renowned
Lithuanian artist, actor, and producer, from whom she first studied art. In 1998, while
pursuing an MBA, she sold her first painting to a small gallery in Cambridge. Since then,
she has continuously explored various mediums and styles, never ceasing to paint and
experiment.
Clima’s art has found a global audience through platforms like Saatchi Art, Fine Art
America, and Etsy, where she offers original paintings, prints, and custom commissions.
Her work resonates with collectors who appreciate the fusion of classical motifs with
contemporary flair, making her a distinctive voice in the modern art scene.
